Nintendo Switch 2 owners who want more playtime between charges and a more comfortable hold now have a new accessory from Belkin. The company’s Charging Grip, available this week, attaches a magnetic battery pack to the back of the handheld while providing larger nonslip grips for the Joy-Con controllers.

Battery Boost and Better Grip

The Charging Grip includes a 10,000mAh battery that attaches magnetically to the back of the Switch 2. Belkin says this can add three to four hours of additional playtime. The pack does not use MagSafe, as the Switch 2 lacks that standard, but the magnetic connection holds it securely.

The grips themselves are thicker and coated with a nonslip material. They attach over the standard Joy-Con controllers, giving players a more substantial hold. This design addresses common complaints about the Switch 2’s flat controllers during long gaming sessions.

The accessory comes in three colors: black, lilac and olive green. Belkin sells it directly through its online store for $99.99.

Why This Matters

Handheld gaming relies on battery life and comfort. The Switch 2’s standard battery lasts roughly four to six hours depending on the game. For frequent travelers or commuters, an extra three to four hours can make the difference between finishing a game session or cutting it short. The ergonomic improvement also reduces hand fatigue, which is a practical concern for players who hold the device for hours at a time. At $99.99, the Charging Grip competes with other battery accessories but adds grip functionality in one package.

Availability and Compatibility

The Charging Grip works exclusively with the Nintendo Switch 2. Belkin’s online store is the primary retail channel. The company also offers a Charging Case Pro that combines battery and protection for $69.99, though that model does not include the grip upgrade. The Charging Grip is designed for players who prioritize extended playtime and hold comfort over case protection.
